Can Existing Tank Monitors Connect to Fuel Delivery Software?
Check the connection before you buy around it. Owning a monitor does not prove its readings can reach a new dispatch board. Blink Fuel’s published order flow does not prove that link. A customer typing a tank reading is different from a device sending it.
Trace one reading from start to finish
PERC describes connected monitor data. That does not mean every app can receive it. Ask both providers which device and data method they support. Have them show one reading from the existing system on the proposed office screen. Use a demo you have permission to run.
Ask what happens when data stops
Check the reading’s time and units. Does it just show on screen, or does it create a task or order? Have the presenter show a stopped feed. Name who handles support when the device provider says it sent the reading but the office cannot see it.
Keep manual entry distinct
Blink Fuel’s heating-oil page lists a customer-entered tank reading as one order option. It does not describe an automatic monitor feed. Keep the existing monitor process until the new handoff is shown and the duties are clear.
Questions owners ask
Does keeping my old monitor mean the new app can read it?
No. Owning the device does not prove a supported link to another system.
Does a displayed reading mean an order has been created?
Do not assume so. Ask the providers to show which action a reading starts and who reviews it.
Next step
Bring the monitor model and a sample reading to a connection-scope demo. Ask to see the full path and get the agreed scope in writing.
